Enjoy a scenic drive to the launch site near Victoria Falls, where you’ll be briefed on the day's adventure.
– Safety Briefing & Gear Up
Meet your professional rafting guides who will provide a detailed safety briefing.
Get fitted with high-quality rafting equipment: helmet, life jacket, and paddle.
Learn essential paddling techniques and safety procedures, including how to handle rapids and what to do in case of a flip.
– Hike Down into the Batoka Gorge
Descend into the stunning Batoka Gorge, a steep but scenic trail leading to the Zambezi River.
Take in the breathtaking views of the gorge as you reach the starting point at Rapid #1 ("Against All Odds").
– Rafting Begins: Rapids #1–#10 (Morning Session)
Start your adventure by tackling the first section of Class IV and V rapids, including:
Rapid #1 – Against All Odds
Rapid #4 – Morning Glory
Rapid #5 – Stairway to Heaven (one of the most famous rapids)
Rapid #7 – Gulliver’s Travels (a technical and thrilling rapid)
Rapid #8 – The Midnight Diner (two big drops back-to-back)
In calmer stretches, enjoy the stunning basalt rock formations and possible sightings of birds, monkeys, and other wildlife along the riverbanks.
– Riverside Lunch Break
Take a well-earned break on the riverbank and enjoy a freshly prepared lunch with refreshing drinks.
Relax, take in the scenic beauty, and listen to fascinating stories from the guides about the river’s history, local legends, and the surrounding ecosystem.
– Rafting Resumes: Rapids #11–#25 (Afternoon Session)
Continue the adventure through another set of exhilarating rapids, including:
Rapid #11 – Overland Truck Eater (big waves and strong currents)
Rapid #13 – The Mother (long and powerful, but thrilling!)
Rapid #15 – The Washing Machine (huge whirlpools and spinning currents)
Rapid #18 – Oblivion (one of the most famous rapids, known for flipping boats!)
Between rapids, you’ll also experience tranquil sections, where you can float and admire the gorge’s breathtaking scenery.
– Finish Rafting & Hike Out of the Gorge
After completing 25 rapids, it’s time to hike out of the Batoka Gorge. This is a steep uphill climb, so take it at your own pace with guide support.
– Cold Beverages & Transfer Back to Hotel
Enjoy a refreshing cold drink at the top of the gorge to celebrate your adventure.
Board the transfer vehicle for a scenic drive back to your hotel, arriving by 16:30–17:00.
